How much does a video production cost?
A lot of people struggle with pricing video, both customers and production companies. But if you liken it to a house, it becomes a bit easier to understand.
I could ask you to build me a 3 bedroom house and you could charge me £100,000 or £300,000.
There will be a big planning phase about what this house should look like, and costing would be different based on, what materials are being used, how long it will take to complete, how many tradespeople will be working on it, and these are just basic logistics that go into building a house.
A video production can be very much the same. It can have a big planning phase which is determined by how complex the video needs to be. The video could be filmed over 1 day or 5 days, with a crew in one location and another 3 crews out at other locations.
You might require specialist skills or equipment. A super super slow motion camera can cost £2000 per day to rent (not many video companies own a £100,000 camera) or a point of view drone operator can easily eat up £800 as a specialist.
Video production pricing comes down to time and resources.
Many videos can be done on a much smaller budget, the above are bigger examples to illustrate a point.
We tend to work with budgets between £1000-£3000. We have done the occasional £10,000 project but again, these needed multiple crews, 6 weeks of editing and many deliverables (final video files)
We’re able to keep costs to a minimum for clients as we can facilitate the development of many types of business videos in house.
We can give you a general figure, with enough information from you about your production, as our costs are fixed, so after an initial phone call, you could leave with a ballpark figure of what your video production costs could be.
